Rare Vintage ASA No. 682 Automatic Hurricane Lantern – A. Sartorius Germany with Unique Globe Lift System

Fantastic vintage ASA No. 682 hurricane lantern with a unique automatic globe lift mechanism and unmarked red glass globe. Presented in excellent and fully working condition.

Examples in this condition are very rarely encountered today.

What makes the ASA lantern so special is its ingenious automatic mechanism. When the carrying handle is folded backwards, the chimney rises and the glass globe automatically swings away, allowing easy access to the burner. A clever and beautifully engineered system that still works perfectly.

The lantern was produced by A. Sartorius in Germany.

Naturally, it shows some signs of age and use, adding to its authentic vintage character and charm.
